Jamaica’s COVID-19 death toll has increased with an addition of 9 fatalities being recorded.
That’s according to the Health and Wellness Ministry’s latest update.
The number of COVID-19 deaths now stands at 2,376.
Majority of the deceased are from St. Elizabeth.
Meanwhile, 65 new cases were recorded.
The total number of positive cases is at 91,026.
Five hundred and 18 samples were tested.
This represents a positivity rate of just over 12%.
The total number of active cases in the last 2 weeks are 795.
In the meantime, there were 86 recoveries.
This brings the number of recoveries to 62 thousand 2 hundred and 57.
One hundred and 74 persons are hospitalized.
24 are moderately ill, 29 are severely ill, and 12 are considered critical.
