Jamaica’s COVID-19 positivity rate now stands at just over 17-percent.
The Ministry of Health has reported a positivity rate of 17-point-6 percent in its latest update.
The positivity rate follows the confirmation of 147 new cases from the 2-thousand 1-hundred and 96 samples tested in the last 24 hours.
This brings the total number of positive cases recorded since the start of the pandemic to 1-hundred and 33-thousand 2-hundred and 50.
54 of the new positives are cases reported from Kingston and St. Andrew, while St James and St. Ann recorded 33 and 17 new cases respectively.
2 new deaths have been recorded.
More than 3-thousand Jamaicans have died from COVID-19 since the start of the pandemic.
There were 118 recoveries reported in the update.
79 persons are hospitalised with COVID, 15 are moderately ill, 2 are severely ill, while 1 case is considered critical.
More than 90-percent of those who are hospitalised are unvaccinated.
