Jamaica has recorded 68 new COVID-19 cases in the last 24 hours.
That’s according to the Ministry of Health and Wellness’ latest update.
In the update, a positivity rate of 16.9 per cent was reported.
Over 142-thousand cases have been recorded since the onset of the pandemic in the country.
The newest cases come from 4-hundred and 56 samples tested.
20 of the new cases are from Kingston and St. Andrew.
One new COVID-19 fatality were recorded.
The deceased is a 55-year-old female from Clarendon.
More than 3-thousand Jamaicans have died of COVID-19 since the start of the pandemic.
There were 97 recoveries reported in the update.
One hundred and 13 people are hospitalised with COVID.
31 are moderately ill, 13 are severely ill and 5 are critical.
81-per cent of those hospitalised are unvaccinated.
