Jamaica’s COVID-19 positivity rate now stands at just over 32%

The Ministry of Health has reported a positivity rate of 32.5% in its latest update.

The positivity rate follows the confirmation of 238 new cases in the last 24 hours.

These cases come from the testing of 2802 samples.

Majority of the new cases are from St James with 87 recorded.

Westmoreland follows with 27 cases.

2 new deaths from the virus were also recorded.

More than 3000 Jamaicans have died from COVID-19 since the start of the pandemic.

There were 1 25 recoveries reported in the update.

The number of people hospitalised with COVID has increased to 107.

15 are moderately ill while 3 are considered critical.

80% of those who are hospitalised are unvaccinated.
