Data collection for the latest Jamaica Survey of Living Conditions is scheduled to begin Monday August 4.
The Statistical Institute of Jamaica, STATIN, says provisions have been made to allow access to gated communities during the data collection phase.
As part of that plan, STATIN says it will be dispatching formal letters to householders.
In addition, the team says it will be coordinating with STRATA corporations, realtor’s associations, and property managers to facilitate smooth entry for interviewers.
The agency expressed concern in 2022 that it was barred from some gated communities in its work to collect data for the island’s 15th population and housing census.
The Jamaica Survey of Living Conditions, conducted annually since 1988, is Jamaica’s most comprehensive source of social data, informing the development and monitoring of national policies and programmes.
