Residents of Elgin Town in Hanover are in shock this afternoon over the brutal murder of a bus operator and his wife.

Fifty six year old Balford Gordon, and his wife, Aleth Brown-Gordon, were at home with their son and cousin when a lone gunman attacked them.

They were taken to another location where they were shot and killed.

Head of the Hanover Police, Deputy Superintendent Artel Colley, says the couple and their cousin, Newton Stephens, were abducted from their home and shot Mosquito Cove in the parish.

DSP Colley says the couple’s son witnessed the abduction of his parents.

He says the gunmen drove back to Mr. Brown’s house after shooting the three.

DSP Colley says robbery is believed to be the motive for the murders.
