The Early Childhood Commission, ECC, says it’s consulting with stakeholders to establish a plan to address the concerns of parents who return to work on June 1 but have no one to care for their children.
Prime Minister Andrew Holness had announced that the ‘work from home’ order, aimed at containing the spread of COVID-19, will be lifted at the end of this month.
But some parents are scrambling to find child care, as schools and nurseries remain closed.
Tricia Williams Singh is Chair of the Early Childhood Commission.
She says the Education Ministry and the government are working to put measures in place.
But, Mrs Williams Singh refused to share the details of those measures, noting that talks are ongoing.
