Director of Elections, Glasspole Brown, says the Electoral Office of Jamaica, EOJ, will soon launch a public sensitisation campaign aimed at encouraging greater citizen participation in the voting process.
This is in response to the persistent challenge of low voter turnout at the polls, which has plagued both parliamentary and municipal elections in recent years.
Glasspole Brown, Director of Elections.
Jamaica has been experiencing a troubling trend of voter apathy, where an increasing number of eligible voters are choosing not to participate in elections.
This disengagement from the political process raises concerns about the health of the country’s democracy.
Mr. Brown says the upcoming campaign will focus on addressing these concerns by educating the public on the importance of voting.
