Supporters of the governing Jamaica Labour Party’s, Annmarie Vaz, say they are confident in her candidacy in East Portland because she’s already demonstrating her ability to upgrade the constituency.

Our news center visited the community of Fairy Hill in East Portland today where the majority of voters traditionally support the JLP.

A woman in Fairy Hill told Nationwide News she’s not a JLP supporter but will be voting for Mrs. Vaz. The woman says she wants the JLP to win the by-election because she’s upset about the recent objection by the PNP to a bridge being installed in Prospect.

This resident told our news centre he’s gearing up to celebrate a victory for Annmarie Vaz on Thursday.

Another resident in Fairy Hill cited Mrs. Vaz’s work to resolve water woes being faced by some residents as the reason why he believes the JLP candidate should be elected MP.
