Nationwide News understands that five women were among six people shot by gunmen in the Bounty Hall area of Trelawny this morning.
Two of the women died from their injuries.
Preliminary reports are that a man was also shot and killed during the incident.
The triple murder has stunned the community.
The other three women who were among the six shot are in hospital receiving treatment.
Full details surrounding the murders and shooting injury have not yet emerged.
However, it’s understood that two of the bodies of the deceased were found in a Toyota Voxy motor vehicle.
The murders occurred at approximately 1:30 this morning.
It’s understood that the triple murder – including two women and a man – this morning means that 11 people have been murdered in Jamaica over the past 24 hours.
