The so-called Ganja Law which are amendments to the Dangerous Drugs Act that were passed by Parliament in February, has still not come into effect.
The date for its enactment is to be set by the Justice Minister, Mark Golding.
The amendments will decriminalize the possession of up to two ounces of the drug.
Commercial planting for medicinal and religious purposes will also be allowed with a license from the soon-to-be-established Cannabis Licensing Authority.
The Justice Minister says he wants the public to understand that the changes to law will not ‘free up’ ganja.
