Locally based BPO company, Global Gateway Solutions, GGS, has mobilized it’s legal team in the United States to respond to a law suit filed against it by the Minnesota Attorney General.

That’s according to Attorney for the company, Caroline Haye who spoke to our news center today.

The Minnesota Attorney General, Lori Swanson, claims that GGS is hounding residents of her state with phony debt collection calls.

She accuses GGS of bullying US citizens into paying off debts they don’t owe.

A statement from GGS today says as one of Jamaica’s oldest locally-owned call centres it’s not a debt collection agency.

It says GGS clients include customer service agencies, sales entities and licensed debt collection agencies.

GGS says its employees call customers on behalf of its clients, using a script provided and approved by the client.

Mrs. Hay says the company is reserving any further comment until advised.
