Opposition Spokesman on Finance, Mark Golding, says the Ministry of Economic Growth and Job Creation requires serious restructuring.

Mr. Golding was making his contribution to the Budget Debate in the House of Representatives yesterday. He says the makeup of the Ministry itself is hurting Jamaica’s growth prospects.

Opposition Spokesman for Finance Mark Golding is calling on Prime Minister, Andrew Holness, to reconsider the super ministries in his government.

Chief among them is the Ministry of Economic Growth and Job Creation.

The Urban Development Corporation, the National Water Commission, the Development Bank of Jamaica, and the HEART Trust are among the entities under the purview of the Economic Growth and Job Creation Ministry.

Mr. Golding says despite the name the ministry is not growing the economy.

Mr. Golding also lashed out at another Super Ministry.
