National Security Minister, Dr. Horace Chang, says the government’s multi billion dollar investment in the security forces has begun to bear fruit.

Dr. Chang says the police are now successfully dismantling many of the criminal gangs in the country.

The minister was addressing the Montego Bay Chamber of Commerce and Industry Expo 2020 at the Montego Bay Convention Centre in St James on Friday.

Last week Monday, gunmen shot and killed a Jamaican Chinese businessman and an employee of his in an attempted robbery on Church Street in St James.

The dead men have been identified as 43-year-old Kenneth Li, and his security guard, 27-year-old Carl Reid.

Following the incident, Mayor of Montego Bay, Homer Davis, said footage provided by Jamaica Eye CCTV cameras helped in the apprehension of the two men who’re believed to be responsible for the killing or Mr Li and Mr Reid.

Meanwhile, the National Security Minister says the men and women of the police force have already begun to effectively utilize the investment in the Constabulary.
