Finance Minister, Dr Nigel Clarke says thousands of Jamaicans are set to receive their CARE grant allocations between this week and next week.

He notes several obstacles to earlier pay outs despite applicants receiving eligibility notifications and alerts.

Among them dormant or inactive bank account challenges and incorrect banking information plaguing some compassionate grant applicants.

Dr Clarke was speaking Sunday at the Office of the Prime Minister, during a virtual media briefing.

And the Minister says the government’s committed to ensuring eligible applicants receive their grants.

Meanwhile, Dr Clarke says of the 1200 small businesses confirmed as eligible, transfers have been made to 381 of them and processing continues for the remainder.
