National Security Minister, Dr Horace Chang has announced plans to table an Integrity of Security Forces Act before the end of the year.

Minister Chang also outlined measures to ramp up screening of new recruits in their push to transform the Constabulary.

He was speaking at the 3rd installment of the Canadian Association of Police Polygraphists’ Conference at the Jamaica Pegasus Hotel on Monday.

Neika Lewis reports.

The National Security Minister says the public has lost confidence in politicians and the security forces.

He says corruption within the security forces and the political sphere has tainted their efforts.

He’s hoping to change the narrative.

He says Jamaica and the region have inherited security forces from colonizers, which are now antiquated.

In the meantime, Dr Chang says plans are in place to begin the transformation of the Jamaica Constabulary Force.
