Justice Minister, Delroy Chuck, says Jamaica is not doing as badly as perceived in relation to the fight against corruption.

Minister Chuck says only two countries in the region do better on the Global Corruption Index than Jamaica.

The Justice Minister was speaking at the launch of an anti corruption partnership between the European Union and the local anti-corruption watch dog National Integrity Action.

His comment came just a day after former Education Minister, Ruel Reid, and associates were arrested and charged for corruption related offences.

Minister Chuck made it clear that corruption is a problem in Jamaica.

But, the Justice Minister says while it’s important to fight corruption, Jamaicans should not seek it out where it does not necessarily exist.
