Jamaica has passed its eighth IMF, test!

That’s according to the new IMF Head of Mission to Jamaica, Ms. Uma Ramakrishnan.

But Ms. Ramakrishnan says the country was granted a waiver for missing the targeted dollar amount for the Primary Surplus target.

The disclosure was made at a joint IMF-Ministry of Finance press briefing in Kingston this morning.

And, Finance Minister , Dr. Peter Phillips says although Jamaica has successfully completed all eight reviews under the program so far, challenges remain.
