Young Jamaica, the Youth Arm of the Jamaica Labour Party, JLP, says the Office of the Political Ombudsman, OPO, should be de-funded  and its roles be subsumed to an actionable body with appropriate powers.

Young Jamaica President, Howard Chamberlain, says Political Ombudsman, Donna Parchment Brown, called on the electorate in Central Kingston to lodge formal reports on vote buying, allegedly by JLP supporters.

Mr. Chamberlain charged that the request is biased.

Mr. Chamberlain says Mrs. Parchment Brown has not responded to several issues leading up to the September 3 General elections.

He added that her silence has stimulated tension between both parties.

The Young Jamaica President says, despite some reports of political violence during the election, Mrs. Parchment Brown did not play an active role in resolving the issues.
