Justice Minister Delroy Chuck is calling on Jamaicans, including churches, members of civil society and other stakeholders, to fight back against criminality in the country.

Addressing Justices of the Peace at St. Gabriel’s Anglican Church Hall in Clarendon at the weekend, Minister Chuck says individuals and groups must help the authorities in the fight against corruption, indiscipline and lawlessness.

The Justice Minister says too many people are benefiting from the proceeds of crime.

He says this is what’s preventing a crime free society and allowing the scourge of violence to spread across the country.

According to Mr. Chuck, if citizens tell what they know to the police, the hold criminals have on communities would be reduced.

He wants citizens to be proactive.
