Kabaka Pyramid won the award for Best Reggae Album at last night’s staging of the 65th Grammy Awards.
The first time nominee took home the Grammy for his second studio album “the Kalling” released in September of last year.
He got the award over fellow Jamaicans Koffee, Sean Paul, Shaggy and Protoje.
He thanked the nominees as well as the public for their overwhelming support of the genre.
He dedicated his award to Jo Mersa Marley who passed away last December.
Meanwhile, Prime Minister Andrew Holness took to social media to congratulate the artiste on his first Grammy win.
