Dancehall star, Vybz Kartel, is to appear in Court this morning for the beginning of the appeal of his murder conviction.
Kartel is to appear before Court of Appeal President, Justice Dennis Morrison and 2 of his colleagues on the bench at the Appeal Court on King Street in Downtown, Kingston.
The proceedings are to begin at 9:00am.
Attorneys Tom Tavares Finson, Bert Samuels and Valerie Neita Robertson will attempt to convince the panel of judges that the entertainer’s 2014 murder conviction should be overturned.
Kartel’s co-convicts, Kiro Jones, Shawn Storm and Andre St. John are to also appear in court for their appeals.
Kartel’s given name is Adidja Palmer.
In April 2014 he was convicted of murdering Clive ‘Lizard’ Williams over alleged missing guns.
Kartel and his co-convicts were sentenced to life in prison.
