Residents of August Town and many supporters came out in numbers yesterday to mourn the death of 9-year old Kyle Richards.

The Hope Valley Experimental Primary School student was washed away in floodwaters last month.

After a week of searching, his decomposed body was found in Harbour View, St. Andrew.

He was laid to rest yesterday.

Kyle’s mother, Kerene Kidd, says she’s taking it one day at a time.

Kyle’s grandmother, Lisa Facey, says he will always be remembered.

Meanwhile, Member of Parliament for Eastern St. Andrew, Fayval Williams, brought condolences on behalf of the government.

She says work is being done across the constituency to prevent such a tragedy from reoccurring.

Ms. Williams says the nation has a duty to its children.
