Local Government Minister, Desmond McKenzie, says approximately $50-million will be allocated to the Jamaica Fire Brigade to improve the working conditions of firefighters.

The Minister was speaking last week at a special meeting of officers of Municipal Corporations islandwide at the Hyatt Ziva hotel in St.James.

Mr. Mckenzie, who has portfolio responsibility for the Jamaica Fire Brigade, says funds will also be allocated to provide additional training for firefighters.

Meanwhile, Commissioner for the Jamaica Fire Brigade, Raymond Spencer says they’ve recently trained members to improve its response to disasters.
