A section of the Mandela Highway was closed Friday afternoon as the police processed a crime scene.

The Jamaica Constabulary Force issued a statement via their official social media channels urging motorists to use alternative routes.

This as the police were processing a murder scene on the east-bound lane at the exit of the PJ Patterson Highway/Highway 2000.

The dead man is unidentified.

Reports are shortly after 1:00 this afternoon, the man was walking along the roadway, when he was pounced upon by men travelling on motorcycles who opened fire hitting him.

It’s understood that the normal flow of traffic has returned to the area as the police have finished processing the crime scene.
