A World Bank survey says approximately 450-thousand Jamaicans do not have bank accounts.
The survey also says just about 11% of Jamaicans borrow from banks.
Deputy Governor of the Bank of Jamaica, John Robinson, shared the statistics at the University of the Commonwealth Caribbean, UCC’s Annual Academic Research Conference yesterday.
The Deputy BOJ Governor also says only 1% of Jamaicans use their mobile phones to conduct transactions online.
