Deputy General Secretary of the People’s National Party, PNP, Natalie Neita, says she’s requested a leave of absence to play what she says is a significant role in Lisa Hanna’s presidential campaign.

Ms Neita’s comments follow outrage in some quarters that she attended a function to launch Ms Hanna’s campaign.

Some commentators say her action as a member of the party’s secretariat is a breach of established protocols.

When contacted by Nationwide News last evening, Ms Neita told our news centre she has already written to PNP General Secretary, Julian Robinson, advising him that she’ll be taking a leave of absence.

Ms Hanna is going up against South St Andrew MP Mark Golding in the race to replace Dr. Peter Phillips as PNP President.
