The National Environment and Planning Agency, NEPA, is continuing to urge members of the public to exercise caution and avoid entering the water in the Salt Marsh area of Trelawny.
This after sharks were observed feeding on the carcass of a whale in shallow waters on the weekend.
Anthony McKenzie is in charge of environment and sustainability at NEPA.
NEPA says the presence of sharks is normal in Jamaican waters.
It also says the feeding activity is part of a natural ecological process and does not, in itself, indicate an unusual environmental event.
McKenzie says sharks could still be in the area.
