The Chief Medical Officer, Dr. Winston De La Haye, says there are no new cases of the Zika virus froim the batch of samples sent for testing recently at the Caribbean Public Health Authority, CARPHA lab in Trinidad.

Dr. De La Haye says since the first confirmation of the Zika virus on Janaury 29, 3,787 households were visited and 32 blood samples taken.

Fifteen samples were sent to CARPHA on February 2. The others will be sent this week.

CARPHA is reporting that so far, five of the samples were positive for the dengue virus, but there have been no positive tests for Zika.
