A US Embassy official in Jamaica says the Embassy is still unable to say when it will resolve the issues causing delays in the granting of visas.

The US Department of State’s Bureau of Consular Affairs says it’s currently experiencing technical problems with its visa systems.

It says the issue is not specific to any particular country or visa category.

Deputy Consul General at the US Embassy in Kingston, Katherine Farrell, says as of now, U.S. embassies and consulates are unable to process new applications submitted on or after June 9.
