The Occupational Health and Safety, OSH, Bill is set to be re-tabled by the end of this fiscal year. That’s according to Labour Minister, Pearnel Charles Jr.

He was speaking on Wednesday at a policy forum on gaps in workplace health policies at the Pegasus Hotel in Kingston.

The bill will set and improve standards for safety and security in the workplace for employees and employers.

It was first tabled in 2017 and has since undergone several revisions after being assessed by a joint select committee of parliament.

According to Minister Charles Jr., the ministry is making every effort to push the bill ahead.

Meanwhile, Spokesperson on Labour and Sports, Wavell Hinds, affirmed his commitment to helping push the bill forward.

He says workers’ protection must be prioritised.
