Shadow Minister on Justice, Senator Donna Scott-Mottley, is chiding the government for what she labeled as their last minute responses and actions toward the state of crime and violence in the country.

She condemned what she calls the prime minister’s effortless response to the rise in crime.

The Shadow Minister of Justice was speaking during a virtual PNP media briefing .

Senator Scott-Mottley noted that in the 2018 States of Public Emergency, only a small percentage of more than 3,000 detained men were charged.

Scott-Mottley says since then, the tactics of the government have remained unchanged.

Senator Scott-Mottley argued that the government must learn to take decisive action without negatively impacting the lives of innocent young Jamaicans.
