More than 150 persons are to benefit from a certification programme being introduced by Jamaica and the United Kingdom.

The government today signed a contract with the Department for International Development of the UK to provide training to more than 150 persons who’ll be internationally certified to manage government involvement in public projects.

The announcement was made by Finance Minister, Audley Shaw, at the Public Investment Management System, PIMS’s, seminar today.

The Finance Minister says the move is expected to increase government investments in public projects to achieve economic growth.

Mr. Shaw says, over the years, poor planning, management and design and government and public disunity over projects are the major factors contributing to failure.
