The Ministry of Health is advising the public that the Pfizer vaccine is available in Jamaica for ‘Booster Doses’.

The Ministry says 80,640 doses of the vaccine were donated to Jamaica by the government of Latvia.

Members of the public, who are fully vaccinated and are due a booster dose, are being urged to visit any of the 120 vaccination sites to receive the booster.

The Ministry is continuing to administer the Johnson-and-Johnson and Sinopharm vaccines to persons 18 years and older.

Members of the public are encouraged to get vaccinated to protect themselves from severe illness, hospitalization and/or death associated with COVID-19.

The ministry is also reminding the public that respiratory illnesses have increased in recent weeks due to COVID-19, Influenza A and B and respiratory syncytial (sin-si-shial) virus, RSV.

Members of the public are also being encouraged to take the flu vaccine.
