Prime Minister Andrew Holness, is urging residents of the Corporate Area to be patient as the government embarks on a project to improve access to water for several communities.
Mr. Holness was addressing the ceremonial contract signing for the Six Miles to Blake Road Transmission Main Upgrade project.
Prime Minister Holness says the pipe will replace old mains on Spanish Town Road and ensure proper water pressure and consistent supply can reach as far as Eastern Kingston.
Mr Holness says his administration has made water a priority.
He says there are several water projects happening in rural areas.
The Prime Minister says the government is also moving to ramp up measures designed to protect water shed areas.
