The opposition PNP is calling on the government to revise the salary scale for the political directorate in the spirit of transparency, proportionality and accountability.
The opposition is also recommending that the government delays the increase of salaries to parliamentarians until the concerns of other public sector workers are addressed.

Speaking on Friday at a media conference at the party’s Old Hope Road Headquarters, Opposition Spokesman on Finance, Julian Robinson said the PNP has a two point proposal for the government to consider.
On Tuesday, Mr. Robinson was clear, telling parliament the Opposition had no issue with the increases.
Today he expressed a different view.
Meanwhile, Opposition Leader, Mark Golding, was asked about the method he would use to distribute the 80-percent of his new salary that he has pledged to give away.
