Social Commentator, Jaevion Nelson, says the leadership battle that’s shaping up in the People’s National Party, PNP, will benefit the party, regardless of the outcome.
Central Manchester Member of Parliament, Peter Bunting on the weekend announced his bid to challenge Dr Peter Phillips for leadership of the 81-year-old political organization.
Mr. Nelson is also the Executive Director of the Jamaica Forum for Lesbians, All-Sexuals and Gays, J-FLAG.
Mr. Nelson says he doesn’t believe the PNP can defeat the Jamaica Labour Party, JLP, in the next General Election which is constitutionally due in 2021.
He says the PNP will be more competitive after this internal challenge.
