The security forces carried out an operation in Spanish Town, Catherine on Thursday morning in search of gunmen who shot and injured a policeman at an ATM on Wednesday.
The shooting incident occurred at about 1:15pm at a plaza on Old Harbour Road.
One of the gunmen was also shot an injured in the incident.
He’s under police guard in hospital.
The Police report that two off-duty police officers were at the ATM when armed men attempted to rob one of them.
A gunfight ensued and of the policemen was shot along with one of the hoodlums.
One of the men engaged the police in a gunfight, which left one of the officers and one of the hoodlums injured.
They were taken to the hospital, where they were treated.
One illegal Taurus pistol with twelve rounds of ammunition were seized during the incident.
