A police officer was shot and wounded in a confrontation with another man who was fatally shot yesterday in Kingsvale, Hanover.

The deceased has since been identified as Ovado Samuels, otherwise called “Vado”, of Mount Pleasant in the parish.

The incident reportedly happened minutes after four in the morning.

Up to news time there was no further detail available on the incident.

The police say an investigation has been launched.
