Police officers attached to the St. Andrew South Division have fatally shot one of three men who allegedly murdered another on Barbados Road in Olympic Gardens in St. Andrew yesterday.

Reports are that about 4:30 p.m., a team of officers were on mobile patrol when they heard explosions and went to investigate.

They were then challenged by the three men and during the melee, one of the men who was armed with a handgun was fatally shot, and a firearm seized.

A secondary operation was conducted, and the other two men, believed to be the accomplice of the man who was fatally shot taken into custody.

The firearms are a Beretta 9mm Pistol, a magazine containing twelve 9mm rounds of ammunition, and a Glock 9mm Pistol.

The police says their Forensics Department will test the firearms to determine its connection to this or any other incident.

The men have since been taken into custody and will be questioned in the presence of their attorney, after which charges are expected to be proffered.
