Jamaica’s Covid-19 positivity rate is just over 30 per cent.

In its latest update, the Ministry of Health reported a positivity rate of 30.6 per cent. The positivity rate follows the confirmation of 264 new cases.

They come from 2,808 samples tested in the last 24 hours. Seventy-two of the new cases are from Kingston and St. Andrew, while St James and St. Catherine each recorded 34 new cases.

Five new deaths have been recorded. More than 3,000 people in Jamaica have died from Covid-19 since the start of the pandemic.

There were 176 recoveries reported in the update. One hundred and twenty-four people are hospitalised with Covid. Thirty-three are moderately ill, seven are severely ill and three are critical.

Eighty four per cent of those hospitalised are unvaccinated.
