Prime Minister Andrew Holness is due to address the nation from Jamaica House where it’s widely expected that he’ll announce new and tighter measures to the rise in Covid-19 cases.

Last week the Prime Minister put the country on notice when he  told the Parliament that the Covid-19 sub-Committee of Cabinet would meet over the weekend to review the Covid-19 situation in the country.

He said the meeting will, among other things, determine whether there may be need to tighten some of the current Covid-19 measures prior to their expiration on August 10.

The current measures were put in place on June 22.

At that time the curfew hours between Mondays and Saturdays running from 11:00 p.m. – 5:00 a.m. and on Sundays 6:00 p.m. – 5:00 a.m.

The entertainment sector was also partially reopened.
