Chairman of the St James Chapter of the Jamaica Hotel and Tourist Association, JHTA, Robin Russell, says prospects for the winter tourist season are looking more positive compared to earlier this year.
The tourism sector has been hit hard by measures put in place to limit the spread of Covid-19.
Mr. Russell says it appears there’s been a recent increase in visitor arrival.
Meantime, Mr. Russell says he does not detect serious concern from his membership about the impact of crime on the sector.
A newspaper publication earlier this week noted that several business stakeholders in St. James are worried about a recent spike in crime in the parish since the State of Public Emergency was lifted.
