The President of the Private Sector Organization of Jamaica, PSOJ, William Mahfood is calling for fixed election dates.
Mr. Mahfood made the call this morning in a speech at the PSOJ President’s Forum at the Jamaica Pegasus Hotel in New Kingston.
While welcoming the government’s decision not to call elections this year, Mr. Mahfood wants an end to the days of election uncertainty.
Last week, Opposition Senate Leader, Tom Tavares Finson reiterated that the JLP is in support of fixed election dates.
The Director of Elections, Orrette Fisher says the Electoral Commission of Jamaica would also welcome a fixed election date.
