Rahkeem Cornwall smashed 11-sixes and 2-fours in a whirlwind 91 of 54 balls, as the Barbados Royals posted a challenging 195 for 5 from their 20 overs, in Qualifier one of the CPL.
Home team , the Guyana Amazon Warriors won the toss and sent the Royals to bat. Cornwall and Kyle Mayers poste and opening stand of 56 in six overs before Mayers was dismissed for 26. Azam Khan (52) posted 90 for the third wicket with Cornwall, who fell nine runs short of his maiden T20 century.
Romario Shepherd took 2 for 29 bowling for the Warriors.
At sports time the Warriors were 82 for 8 after 14 overs.
Action continues at 6:00 pm today with the eliminator, between the Jamaica Tallawahs and the St Lucia Kings. The winner of the eliminator will play the loser of the Qualifier for a place in Friday’s final.
