Newly appointed Minster of Agriculture, Fisheries and Mining, Floyd Green, says despite the challenges facing the agricultural sector, he’s up to the task.
Mr Green was a Minister without portfolio in the Office of the Prime Minister.
But he assumed the Agriculture and Fisheries portfolios following Monday’s Cabinet reshuffle, replacing Pearnel Charles Jr. in the post.
Prime Minister Andrew Holness also announced that the Mining portfolio will be transferred from the Transport Ministry to the larger Agriculture and Fisheries Ministry.
According to Minister Green, he also intends to address the current difficulties affecting the nation’s mining industry.
Meanwhile, Minister Green says the Agriculture and Mining industries can work together, rather than being in direct conflict.
