With two weeks to go before the start of the new school term, Education Minister, Senator Ruel Reid, says his Ministry will be publishing on its website a list of schools whose fees have been approved.

Some schools have been operating in the breach by charging exorbitant developmental fees. But Minister Reid says the practice must cease. Yesterday President of the Jamaica Teacher’s Association, Howard Isaacs, raised concerns about the funding arrangements at the Primary school level.

But the Education Minister says the government will increase grant funding to primary schools from $1000 per capita to $2500.

He says the Government is on track in making payments due to all schools.
