Jamaica made pageantry history this week with the arrival of the reigning Miss Global 2025, Nhu Van Nguyen Dinh, who will make her first official visit to the island in her capacity as global titleholder.
Miss Global 2025 arrived in Kingston on Wednesday, marking the first time a reigning Miss Global has undertaken an official visit to Jamaica. The visit coincides with the staging of the inaugural Miss Global Jamaica pageant on Jamaican soil.
The pageant is slated for Saturday, January 24, at the Douglas Orane Wolner’s Boys’ Auditorium. It’s expected to further cement Jamaica’s growing influence within the Miss Global Organisation and the wider international pageantry community.
During her stay, Miss Global 2025 will be accompanied by her vice titleholder, Jamaica’s own Keri-Ann Greenwood, who currently holds the titles of Miss Global Jamaica 2025 and Miss Global first runner-up 2026. The two queens are expected to participate in a series of official engagements, including courtesy calls with government representatives.
For Greenwood, the visit is deeply meaningful, blending national pride with personal achievement.
“I’m incredibly excited to welcome my sister-queen back into my world, this time on Jamaican soil,” Greenwood said. “Our journeys have shown that pageantry is more than a moment, it can be a movement. We’ve committed to inspiring realistic change for women, both here in Jamaica and globally.”
The visit is only the second official appearance by a reigning international beauty queen in Jamaica since 2024. It follows the visit of Miss Universe 2023, Sheynnis Palacios, who attended the Miss Universe Jamaica 2024 pageant.
National Director of Miss Global Jamaica, Jermane Blair, described the moment as both symbolic and transformational.
“This visit is as inspirational as it is historic,” Blair said. “To host a reigning Miss Global while celebrating the achievements of our own Keri-Ann Greenwood is a powerful reminder of what is possible when preparation meets opportunity. Jamaica is not just participating in global pageantry; we are shaping it.”
