Motorists using the Washington Boulevard in St. Andrew should expect to experience some delays this weekend as the National Works Agency, NWA, will be carrying out repairs to the Minna Wilmot Pedestrian Bridge that sits above the boulevard.
The NWA says the work will impact the flow of traffic along the corridor.
Manager for Communication and Customer Service at the NWA, Stephen Shaw says that steel members as well as the deck of the pedestrian bridge will be replaced over the two days.
He says that during the replacement of these steel members, two lanes of Washington Boulevard will be closed at a time, in order for the safe execution of the works.
Mr. Shaw says that the pedestrian bridge will be closed and is advising persons to cross Washington Boulevard at either the intersection of Ken Hill Drive or Headley Avenue/Denver Crescent.
Both intersections he says, are signalised and can allow for safe passage by pedestrians.
