Opposition Leader, Dr. Peter Phillips, says recent resignations from the Integrity Commission are further proof that its legislation must be reviewed at the earliest possible date.

In a statement yesterday, Dr. Phillips reiterated his call for the immediate establishment of the Parliamentary Oversight Committee of the Commission as mandated by the Integrity Commission Act.

He’s also insisting that this is an appropriate time for a review of the Act to be undertaken given recent developments at the agency.

His call follows the retirement of former Contractor General, Dirk Harrison, a week ago, and the resignation of the Chairman, Justice Karl Harrison.

According to Dr. Phillips this highlights the crisis surrounding the Integrity Commission.
